Belly dance is
a beautiful and ancient form of dance which has its origins in the traditional
dances of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia. Today belly
dance is practiced and enjoyed by women all over the world. The
sensually graceful movements of belly dance, with its focus on the
torso and hips rather than on the legs and feet, make this dance form a
liberating and unique way to keep fit.
While stereotypical notions of
belly dance have seen it characterised as a dance solely for satisfying the
desires of men, this is a misconception fast being repaired by
women who dance for themselves.
Belly dancing is a colourful,
beautiful, exciting, and most of all, empowering dance form.
Cinnamon Twist School of Belly Dance welcomes women of all ages,
backgrounds, nationalities, shapes, and sizes to share in the beauty
and the fun of belly dance.
